Technology has completely changed cameras and picture taking. Digital cameras are better and more versatile than the older 35mm models and as they get better the price keeps getting lower. Today we are looking at bargains in digital cameras.

I want to look at features the different cameras offer as well as price to determine which digital cameras are real bargains for the money. We will also look at how the cameras were rated by people who purchased them

This digital camera is equipped with 8.0 megapixel CCD and 3x optical image stabilized zoom and Face Detection technology to reduce blur.
It retails for around $250 and SD memory cards are sold separately.

At around $350 this camera may very well be the best buy in it's class. It's ergonomically engineered for handling ease and features 10.0 megapixel resolution for high quality pictures and ease of editing and printing. There is a 20x optical zoom and DIGIC4 Image processor for improved face detection. The movie snap mode will allow you to take high resolution still images while shooting video. This camera is fast and quiet.

This is an excellent well balanced compact camera. For less than $250 you get a wide-angle lens with a 5x zoom, 12-megapixel resolution, some of Sony's advanced automatic shooting options, HD video capture, and a 3-inch LCD all packed into a nice-looking body roughly the size of a deck of cards.

Overall performance of the W290 is very good. Start up to first shot is a relatively brisk 1.3 seconds. Shutter lag in good lighting was a fairly average 0.4 second; in more difficult dim lighting, it went up to 0.7 second. Without the flash on you'll be waiting an average of 2.3 seconds between shots, which only jumps up to 2.7 seconds with the flash on. Lastly, the W290 turned in an impressive burst speed of 2.1 frames per second.
