Proof that God Answers Prayer

Many of you may doubt the existence of God and that He cares for us. I’d like to share a true story with you that proved to me once and for all that not only does He exist but that he loves me. After reading this, you may still doubt and that is OK. Everyone must learn about God in his or her own way and my little story only applied to me.

Please take the time to read this with an open mind. Everything recounted here is the absolute truth and happened just as I tell it to you now.

Dark Times

My name is Ronnie Daniels and I have been a single parent for nearly 20 years. When my children were young, I had a very hard time balancing the need to work and make money with the demands of raising two little girls all by myself.

There were always situations where the needs of my girls conflicted with my work. If one of the girls got sick or I needed to go to their school to meet with teachers, it meant changing my schedule or taking the day off. I even lost jobs because they were ill and no one else could be there to care for them. Answering the inevitable “Why can’t your wife take care of it?” questions with “What wife?” made me angry and depressed.

Better Days for a While

Over time, my girls grew and I found a good job working in the employee cafeteria in a candy factory. I loved my job, made enough to pay for daycare and times were much better for our little family.

Then a new company took over the cafeteria and they began to eliminate staff and cut everyone’s hours. Within a week, my take home pay was cut in half. I looked for part time work to supplement my income with no luck. The bills mounted and Christmas was only a few weeks away.

It felt like my world was falling apart. The money was all spent and the utility bill was due. I was short exactly $100 of having enough to pay it. I got on my knees with tears on my face and shouted at God. “If you are really there, show me!” I cried. “Prove my faith is not a lie.”

You see, I had let my fear and doubt even lead me to doubt God. The funny thing about prayer is that He always hears and answers in His own time, in His own way. I got up off my knees and decided to take a desperation measure. I gathered everything of value we owned, tagged it and put it on the lawn. Yep, I decided to have a yard sale.

Poor Results and Answers to Prayer

I worked the yard sale all day and made money. Yeah! I made $15 and ten of that came from selling a computer peripheral for my laptop computer. At the end of the day, just as I was packing up the yard sale an elderly gentleman pulled up in a Toyota pick up and asked if I had any computer parts. I showed him what I had and he liked the peripheral (it was an external hard drive). I told him the price was $15, let him talk me down to ten and sold it to him. He thanked me and drove away.

I took the $15 to the nearby market and bought supper for us. That Saturday night I went to bed angry at my self and angry with God for letting this happen to us. I thought I had better take the rest of the $15 and buy some candles for later on when the power was turned off.

The next morning I heard a knock at the door. It was the man who’d bought the hard drive! I felt a sense of panic overcome me, thinking that the hard drive did not work and now he wanted his money back. I asked him about it and he said no, it worked perfectly.

He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small envelope. Then he gave it to me and said” God convicted me. He told me I had to give this to you.” I turned to ask him in and when I turned back, the old man was driving away.

I know what you are going to think. The old man felt sorry for us and offered to help. The only problem with that is that old man did not know my situation. He did not know anything about me except I had the part he needed and sold it to him cheap. That is all we talked about during the yard sale. What was in the envelope?

My hundred dollar miracle and the answer to all my doubts

I know God is real and that He cares. He delivered my family in our hour of need and let me know then and there that He is always with us. He loves me, you and everyone and truly hears our cries. I will never doubt Him ever again.
